Wild Flower!

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon (17th April 2011), all I wanted to do is be in a cooler place...

I wanted some greens, some smell of the earth, humid and yet cool.. something I could remember ... not synthetic like the blasting aircon... not cold like the dry winters... something fuller... something I remember seeing years ...decades back.....

My sudden trip to a small village of West Bengal, district Medinipur.... an unnamed location called 'Kaanthi'.. most of the urbanized Bengalis and Indians have never heard of this place.... there was no reach of electic power and telephones were as rare as UFO's... During days, I would meander around the pristine lakes, the mud houses and paddy fields and evenings were spent under the lantern's flickering light, reading 'Malgudi days', till I peacefully rested as sleep took over. Near the guest house I stayed, there grew these flowers... I had no clue of their botanical origin or family name... they had a strong fragnance... I can still recall the smell faintly, as I type.... They were small, but they stood out between the wild grass like the little stars in the dark night sky.... Their bright-yellow tips and orange-red petal body was divided by a thin crimson line... These button like flowers never ceased to amazed my young mind...

I don't know, why I remembered them... but I guess the laze of Sunday afternoon.. and sleepy hot-humid weather... took me back to the calm and small village life... which is just now a pleasant numb memory!

I call this one 'wild flowers'... but obvious!

Let's see what frolic idea my frisky mind comes up with, next time

Until then.....

Love needs to have faith!

This is not a post regarding love or faith, this is regarding my new painting. I call this pair "mi amore vole fe yah", which means love needs to have faith!

I have been having tough time maintaining my faith on a lot of things, the time when everyone inevitably meets the infamous 'Silence of God', I guess it's a passing phase and all I wanted is paint something that represents faith in faith.. Huh! So here it is

Red is brotherhood, passion and femininity, brightness is divinity, the female posture is forgiveness
Blue is tranquility and strength, brightness is divinity, male posture represents one's selflessness
Together they complete faith, love, passion and total well being.

Hope my faith holds up against conformity and usual constraints of life...

Until next time.....
